Fashion hair A/W2013
London Fashion Week, the Brit Awards, Milan: it’s happening all around us and it’s not all about the clothes. Our eyes are peeled for some of the hottest hair trends on show.
Our favourites so far?
Mulberry: disproportioned, fuzzy, rich textures worn with hair loose and romantic, tucked into collars.
Tom Ford: sleek, side parted hair with his O-T-T, clashing prints.
Mary Katrantzou: amazing geometric fringes coupled with mid height sleeked back ponies, to match her focus on shape and silhouette.
We were also really taken by Taylor Swift and Lisa Snowdon’s look at the Brits on Wednesday night.
23-year-old Taylor turned out stunning (Harry Styles and Robbie Williams both thought so too!), opting for straight hair, super shiny, with a show stopping fringe (and some black smokey eye).
Lisa went for a side parting, loosely waved and pinned.
What we’ve noticed…. Last season’s 90s grunge and dual texture look is still hot.
Pair it with a deep side parting, tong random sections for a kink and add some texturising dust in at the roots for some volume.
Sprinkle a little through the ends and work for a textured finish, alternatively, use a shine spray for a more subtle shine/dual texture.
Our trend prediction: anything low down – buns, ponies or accessories. The low pony dominated the catwalks again. For a more modern look aim for a textured finish. Blow-dry with your fingers using Bumble & Bumble Styling Lotion to prep the hair. Some gentle back combing at the roots will add a great silhouette to the finished look. Gather hair loosely at the nape of the neck, secure and wrap a section of the pony around it’s base to hide the band. Mist some hairspray over the tips of your fingers (we love L’Oreal Professional Tecni Art Fix Anti Frizz) and massage the roots for a looser, wispier texture.
