Healthy foods lead to Healthy hair
Did you know that a balanced diet is by far the most important factor when it comes to healthy hair?
Certain foods contain amino acids. Amino acids contain sulphur and cysteine which help the formation of keratine. Keratin is a very strong protein that our hair, nails, skin and teeth are made out of, so it is important to feed our bodies with the right fuel.
Protein, found in certain foods, also ensure that your hair is looking healthy and growing strongly. Foods that are high in protein include, beans, eggs, dairy (for example, milk, cheese, and yogurt), seafood, poultry (lean white meats such as turkey or chicken), beef and soy.
Beef also contains Zinc. This is very important for sufficient hair growth.
The top ten foods containing zinc are, oysters, toasted wheat germ, veal liver, roasted pumpkin and squash seeds, dried watermelon seeds, dark chocolate and cocoa powder (good news for choca-holics) , lamb (mutton) peanuts and crab.
Vegetables that are green and orange in colour contain the vitamins A and E, which are not only important for the health of your hair, but also great for your skin and nails too! Shellfish, milk, eggs, nuts and meats are all rich in hair-boosting minerals.
Last but not least; in fact most importantly of all, is: “Drink lots of water!”
We’ve always said at Sergio Giannasso Hair & Make-up that if you look great you’ll feel great. It’s also true that if you feel great because you eat well you’ll glow on the outside.
Here’s to glowing skin, hair and nails! Eat well and feel fabulous!
IMPORTANT TIP: A sachet of Bicarbonate of soda once a week will regulate and rebalance the acidity of your blood and improve hair growth.
